Beach Bums

Today was our first beach trip of the summer. It was a blast, Marley had a ball, and we're going back on my next day off!!!!

Relaxing

It's a rare thing for Marley to stay still for more than .5 seconds at a time, so when she wanted to lay down on the couch last night I had to snap a quick picture to remember it by.

I was able to get a video of Marley and her dear "Scrubbies" AND get her to say the days of the week (my personal favorite is "Salmonday" lol)... Then in true Marley fashion she straight-up tells me she's had enough... Ohhh, she's going to be a fun teenager (:

Marley has a new favorite toy... Nope, it's not a doll... Nope, not a car...

More like two bottles of hand soap

*sighs* Only my child could discard her mountain of toys, find unopened hand-soap in the bathroom, and proceed to crawl into my bed with her new "Scrubbies" (yes folks, she's named them.) So far today the Scrubbies have jumped with Marley on the bed, gone for about a dozen rides in the school bus, held what seemed to be endless conversations regarding who-knows-what, and been given countless amounts of hugs. Lucky little Scrubbies (:

Rain Boots

We decided to make the most of this constant rain we've been getting and go puddle jumping.

4 Generations

Of girls! (my Grandma, Me, Marley, Amanda (my sister), and my Mommy) This was taken a few weeks ago at my aunt's house when a bunch of my family got together for the afternoon. It was so nice to see all the people I haven't seen in so long, I seriously LOVELOVELOVE my family.

Ice Cream!!

Today was Marley's second day staying dry the entire time she was at daycare (woohoo happydance yayyayyay) so we went to Marble Slab to celebrate. I let Marley choose the flavor she wanted (pink lol) and if she wanted any toppings mixed in... Nope, just ice cream (: Then of course we had to stop by Gaboo's for a quick swim in the pool and a delicious breakfast for supper, lol. Marley loved it all, and I kid you not, the child ate three helpings of grits! I don't know where she puts all that food! (:

My Heart in a Picture

I was looking through all of my pictures on the computer to see which ones I wanted to print, and I came across this one. This is Marley and my grandmother on Halloween '08, and I must say, this is my favorite.picture.ever!!!! The bond between these two is unbelieveable, they love each other so much, and I'm sooooo greatful for the both of them. My grandmother has been there for me all my life, she's been my rock through so many hard times, never once judging me, always supporting me in everything I did. When I think of the kind of person I want to be, I think of her. She sees no bad in people, always tries to find the good, everyone else's needs always come before her own, and you'll never hear her complain about one single thing. She's the strongest woman I know. She's suffered through and finally won her battle against breast cancer, and it didn't slow her down one bit. She's my hero, and I couldn't ask for a better grandmother for myself, or a better great-grandmother for my daughter.

American Beauty

I just can't think of anything else I'd rather see on a hot day than this cute kid in an adorable bathing suit with a juice box, all set to go to the pool. I can't believe how brave Marley is in the pool this summer. She jumps right in and "swims" (it looks like she's running in the water lol too funny) around all by herself. *with waterwings of course* Oh and check out her super-cool flip-flops, she loves them because they're just like Mama's (:
